Inputs on 16pin IDC and output on DB25 tascam or 26pin IDC header format to ribbon DB25 or XLR/TRS if used with our TASCAM / IDC to XLR / TRS IN & OUT PCB at this link .

Perfect compact way to add direct outputs to console and projects.

  • 8 identical audio unbalanced to balanced channels.
  • 100k input impedance which can be changed to 1Meg etc by changing RinZ resistors.
  • Output can drive 600ohm balanced load.
  • Gain 6dB due to balancing or solder link under pcb for 12dB gain.
  • Power with +/-12vdc to +/-18vdc or fits zeners and run on 24vdc to 36vdc floating power supply
  • PCB 2.12" (55.25mm) x 2.8" (77.35mm)

Direct outs for a Neve

Many vintage consoles have a great sound but are missing direct outs — these are a necessity for DAW/interface work. This was the case with a Neve 5432 I bought a few years back, it has main, aux and monitoring outs, but no direct outs. This is because it was designed for OB radio and TV work. Not only was it a simple matter to connect the Tardigrade to the channels, the board is so compact that I was able to fit it to the back panel without any additional drilling/punching, a reworked DB25 backplane panel did the job. The results are great, the console now sends 8 channels of audio over a DB25 cable into an interface and the audio quality is excellent. (Mon Jul 08 2024, 22:56 pm )
