Prophet 5 Rev 2.0-3.0 6508 RAM chip upgrade FRAM replacement module.

Removes the 8 old 6508 1 bit x 1k rams and backup battery and updates to a single chip 8 x 1k FRAM with 150+ years memory with no backup battery needed.

Prophet 5 Rev 3.0 is Plug and Play.

  1. Back up any presets.
  2. Remove 8 old 6508 ram ics.
  3. Fit FRAM replacement module.
  4. Try storing a preset then powering off and on and recall the preset.
  5. If all ok remove the backup battery and reload presets.

Prophet 5 Rev 2.0.

  1. Back up any presets.
  2. Remove 8 old 6508 ram ics.
  3. A simple mod is sometimes needed. A track has to be cut and one link fitted as shown below.
  4. Fit FRAM replacement module.
  5. Try storing a preset then powering off and on and recall the preset.
  6. If all ok remove the backup battery and reload presets.
