Joe originally designed this board to help me out with an SP1200 that had suffered the common issue whereby the electrolytic capacitors that E-mu used were not rated at a sufficient voltage and leaked electrolyte onto the board. The leakage reacted with the charge pump board material and the board becomes conductive and can sometimes catch alight. This replacement board fixed the issue permanently. Having a spare for this board is essential for any SP-1200 owner. Indeed the capacitors need to be replaced immediately if you have an SP-1200.
