Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Thanks for this answer. The transformer (R) is 15Vac/0V/15Vac and the unreg voltage is 24V so there must be no problems. Sorry but my english is not fantastic (I'm french), do you speak of tantalum capacitor? Yes You would use them as replacement for 10µF only or for 1000µF too? Only the 10uF caps ...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi every body! I would like to use Elna capacitor but they are too big to fit on the pcb. Can I use 10µF/35V to replace 10µF/63V? I need only +/-15V! For 48V I used 10µF/63V. Thanks in advance. If the transformer is less than 22vac - 0v - 22vac then the unreg volts should be less than 35v unreg so ...

Re: DINGO PCB and kit Now Available
Hi to all, Is it possible to run the input opamp at+/- 24V (opa2604) and the output opamp (jlm99V) at +/-34V? in the same time? Thanks No. The +/- power rails are shared by both opamps so you can only have both opamps on +/-24v or +/-34v. Unless you want to start cutting tracks. Everything Chris me...

Re: MAC Meter variation
I have a gorgeous looking 50mA DC meter - its NOS from the USSR Nuclear Submarine program, so its built ruggedly. I understand that you can use a 1mA meter is the MAC, but what is the best way to get the range to 50mA? A voltage multiplier? Maybe around the opamp feeding the meter? Should still wor...

To disable the Doubler/Tripler on normal 48v rail replace C1 & C2 with wire links and strap D to centre pad and adjust to the voltage you need.conleycd wrote:Hey Joe,
What's the easiest way to turn the 48volt rail into a lower voltage rail for signal/relay/LED stuff? Say something like 5-15volt?

Re: MONO Mic pre kit BUILD THREAD
Second half of OPA2604AP is used as the inverted -out adding 6dB gain like a 1:2 output transformer would normally do. I'd like to make sure I understand this. R11 and R12 are both 10K, so the opamp is simply unity inverting, yes? BUT, when you apply this inverted signal as the -ve in a balanced li...

Re: MONO Mic pre kit BUILD THREAD
thanks for the detailed explanations. so the mono is actually capable of 83db of gain with the opa2604 and the oep wired for 23db of gain. excellent. ( you might want to explicity state this somewhere so you don't miss out on sales) No the OEP on the mono is fixed at low ratio which is the only rem...

Re: MONO Mic pre kit BUILD THREAD
is this the same circuit as the baby animal? Similar but output is always electronically balanced. Second 99v opamp or Second half of OPA2604AP is used as the inverted -out adding 6dB gain like a 1:2 output transformer would normally do. i'm a little confused about how much gain the baby animals ca...

Re: BAN Build Thread
Excellent Joe! - Can you (or anyone) offer up any thoughts as to what differences to expect with the use of different opamps and transistors? (Is that a MAT02 I see in the webshop picture?) PCB can take without any other part changes 1 x MAT02, LM394 in round and dip8 packages, http://www.jlmaudio....

Re: Baby Animal - 10uF Cap
Hey all, Im building my 4th BA and this one has a slightly different PCB to the older ones I have done. This one contains a 10uf cap, whilst the older ones do not. What is this for? Cant seem to find any info on the PCBs??? It is extra smoothing for the emitter of the BD681 opamp reg when it is use...

Re: dingo as dual output -10dbV/+4dbu converter.is it possible?
thanks guys. i don't care about bal/unbal, i just need gain. i was looking at the dingo because it could have been a low cost solution, and can fit in a pedal box. so, i imagine that plug the signal in a BA mic pre or in the FEt DI connected won't be the same... Umm not sure what you mean by the la...

Re: dingo as dual output -10dbV/+4dbu converter.is it possible?
hi guys, hi Joe ! i was wondering: can the Dingo with 5532s be used as a -10dbv to + 4dbu converter for 2 outputs, instead of 1 In and 1 out ? and, at best, can be powered with a JLM 48v power supply? a thing like this would be awesome for all Apogee Duet owners who want to use Duet with a buss com...

Re: JLM 60Watt Power AMP Kit Now Available
Thanks for working that out! It would be great if it can be done that simply. Are there advantages to building a separate board with opamp driven active filters? Or is it really unneccesary? Separate active Xover makes it easy to do the 18dB slope on the tweeter and eliminates inductors. So makes i...

Passive filter into pure 8ohm loads
I will see if I can emulate these with filters on the inputs or vol position of the AMP kits
