Hey Joe,
So I've got one built and running but it seems as I dial up the "Impedance" control there is a hum or even a "ring" that comes on. With "Impedance" all the way down it sounds pristine.
Could this just be bad grounding from my outlet? (Old house, iffy grounding).

Re: TREX and TREX2 Transistor regulator kit
Joe, One last point of confusion for me on this: If I run the (+) of the 48vdc PSU to the Phantom switch, and ground the (-) at the chassis, and then do the opposite for the 24vdc PSU - (-) to preamp, (+) to chassis - aren't these no longer "floating" supplies? Does that matter, or am I missing some...

Re: TREX and TREX2 Transistor regulator kit
OK, copy that. I'm going to grab a few of those and make some external power supplies for the final builds. Of course you have a solution for this on deck! Much appreciated! I do have a hypothetical here for you Joe. I need +48vdc/-24vdc for this circuit. The +48vdc is just for phantom power, the -2...

Re: TREX and TREX2 Transistor regulator kit
Joe, Question - If I wanted +48v/-24v for a build, could I simply float the input (+/-) of your +48 SMPS and run the (-) rail to a polarity-flipped T-Rex to get it down to -24v? I've got some PNP TIP 125's on the bench and boy oh boy would that be a cheap solution for this. In the case that works, w...

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread
Hmm....No way to do it with a single +48v rail? Chip change?
Perhaps I should just T-rex it down to 36v?

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread
Joe,
Wanted to see if it's possible to run a Reurgitator off of a +48V rail...
can I simply up the x4 electrolytic caps from 25v to 35V rating and then increase the Zener size in Zd1/Zd2? Or will that also cook the chip?
