Re: Scorpion Tube power Supply Build Thread
Thanks Joe. The bottom part of that enclosure it 4mm steel, so I assumed that would be enough to dissipate the heat. I'll try to bolting down that side. The drop in voltage happens almost immediately upon startup, within 10 secs. I'll add a bolt, test and trying replacing the regulator if that doesn...

Re: Scorpion Tube power Supply Build Thread
Hi Joe, Got the new transformer and installed everything in a new enclosure. Now I’m experiencing an issue with the filament voltage. When not under load it holds steady at 6.3vdc. Once it’s under even a small load (ie single tube or even just a indicator bulb) it will slowly drop down to 0vdc. All ...

Re: Scorpion Tube power Supply Build Thread
Hey Joe, Thanks for the reply. Really appreciate the help. I just want to summarize to validate my understanding. I can swap in a toroidal 50va or 80va 2x15AC for the current melted transformer, mount the entire supply PCB in a thicker enclosure to dissipate the heat better and it should be good to ...

Re: Scorpion Tube power Supply Build Thread
Hey Joe,
Thanks for following up and providing clarity. I should have done my math up front.
Do you sell single replacement transformers? or know of a good place to source them in the US?
I'll build out a different power supply for this preamp.
Thanks!

Re: Scorpion Tube power Supply Build Thread
Hi there, Fully built this power supply and it’s putting out proper voltage, but the power transformer is getting super hot. Specifically the one near the mains voltage input. It almost looks like then plastic casing has softened or melted. I’m running a two channel Gates SA-70 tube preamp which lev...

Re: Palpigrade Build Thread
Hi there,
I just purchased some Palpigrade kits. I'm going to be leveraging the LME49720NA and adding them to a summing mixer that's running on +-24VDC. What zener diodes should I leverage to bump down the +-24VDC? Sorry I'm new to adding in zeners.
Thanks for the help!
