Hi all

Im way off topic re JLM kits but am hoping that someone here has the knowledge I need. I want to build a 24 channel mic signal splitter, one source with two destinations. I believe that this can be achieved simply by just building a Y connection. However, I have read that this is suseptable to hum and that building an Transformer isoloate Split is "better". Can anyone tell me how to build one of these babies. What components are invovled...what kind of 1:1 transformer is needed? etc

the Y cord can work

the hum that might come could be to do with crossed earths on the two mic inputs

some juggling of earths and earth lift may cure the hum

yes a Transformer isoloate Split can be "better" but it may also come down to budget on the given device and when you are looking for 24 of them you may want to re-think
