Hey Joe,
One more question. I'm somewhat concerned about the electrolytics in the audio path. Do you think they negatively affect the sound ? can they be removed or replaced with film ? C1, C2, C5 and C12, C13

ok so I see signal at the transformer +P +S jumper but not at the balanced out ? I guess the relay is stopping it ? I'll desolder it and jump them

No they are special NON Polar larger value than needed to keep low roll off thd to a minimum. With the electros inline we have achieved 0.0005% THD figures across the audio band in several of our dingo builds.trenchrecordings wrote:Hey Joe,

If using +/- power rails and opamps with no dc offset problems it can be possible to link out certain caps but i need exact circuit you are using them in and opamp types and lots of details all for very little improvement. Otherwise it is safer to have the caps otherwise any power rail or part failure could destroy all opamps.can they be removed or replaced with film ? C1, C2, C5 and C12, C13

You just need to wire pin 3 on the JLMIO port to 0v (or to -24v with the 2k7 resistor) so it turns on the relay. I got everything balanced and got rid of the ground hum between my vintage mixer, passive speaker switcher and three sets of monitors. Now I just have to play around with op amps and see what I like best. Sounds great, good stuff !

Okay I am going a little crazy. So I am using two dingos in a monitor controller. I had them up and running I thought, One is working fine right now, the other is.... Not. I am using Ne5532's. I have a signal tracer and the signal stops at R9/R10. I have replaced R9 and R10. I swapped the Ne5532's. I am lost and would love some ideas. I compared the two and just don't see it.

If there is nothing at the R9 output end then there is either a short or a power rail is missing so the opamp cannot run etc. So check you have no solder shorts or wiring shorts.Rocinante wrote:Okay I am going a little crazy. First check all voltages at the 8 pins of the input opamp measured to 0v and post them here?
If you get stuck attach some clear in focus photos here of you wiring and top and bottom of the pcb so I can check it over.

1k to 10k log pot for the unbalanced send level and 10k rev log pot for the 20dB makeup gain. Dingo has phase pins to wire to phase switch.
I can do a drawing if the above doesn't make it clear enough.

Yes the 6 pin phase jumper pins behind the input XLR can be wired directly to a DPDT switch for phase.wlinart wrote:Hi,

Also if you fit the relay a simple spst switch can switch hard bypass on / off.

Considering using the dingo as an alternative to CAPI`s 2S-LA for an auxilliary send module. How comparable are these two? I mean, both are balanced receiver + post fader gain makeup, right?
I`m intruiged by the use of a VCA in the dingo. I am using the Expert Sleepers ES-3 system/Silent Way (don`t know if you`re familiar); would it be possible to use a 0-5V dc signal (eurorack compatible) to control the VCA in the DINGO? That way I could have analog automation with zero latency.

The VCA IC on the dingo pcb is setup for SSL compressors which use -CV but this can be flipped easily to be 0v to 5v +CV with 1 opamp and 2 resistors. Or lift +CV pin 2 of the VCA IC from 0v and use it to input into via a resistor will also work for 0v to 5v +CV. and connect -CV pin 3 to 0v.I`m intruiged by the use of a VCA in the dingo.
