Anyone wanna post some samples of OEP v JLM1:4 and 99v?

Post by deuce42 »

Hi guys

Have the OEP/JLM99V and JLM1.1.1 combo on my baby animal. Really love it. I am really keen to hear permutations of other combinatinations, especially a comparison between the OEP and JLM1.4 input transformer.

Anyone got any samples they wish to post or send me???

Joe, Matt - I know that you don't have a minute to scratch yourselves but maybe sometime in the future you could do a shootout? :D

Cheers

try the JLM14 they are good.

I can't post clips because I just changed my 2 channels of OEP for JLM14

I now have 2 channels with OPA2604 and 2 with 99V all with JLM14 input

I found the OEP's had a prominent midrange and a slightly dull/closed-in top end, they sounded solid and focused but lacked the sparkle, and "juiciness" and full bass of the JLM's.

I used them for a while but found I was favouring the JLM channels so heavily that i ended up changing the transformers.
