I just picked up a Yamaha M1516a 16 channel board on Ebay and noticed that the EQ looked almost identical to that of the PM2000. I wonder if the PM2000 EQ mod kit will work for this board? Anyone tried it?

Yes the M1516A has the same 5 frequency Hi & lo mids as the PM2000 so our LCR PM2000 EQ kits can be used with it without any changes.

How would I wire that? I might be getting 16 HM and 16 LM mod kits  very soon, just want to make sure it will work with my board, etc.

The diagram above shows the caps the caps on the Lo Mid band shorted out incorrectly. They should be jumpered from positive to positive instead of positive to negative to give the correct frequencies as per the JLM PM2000 Mod Kit. See corrections in orange in jpg above.

Hi Joe, I have the PM eq mod kit, i've got the m1516 and i'm looking at my module and my schematic and the kit and the details in the pm2000 install and the above image of m1516 intallation. What i really need is the new schematic for the eq mod we are doing.

Do all the wires on the ribbon get used? I'm just a tad lost and need to understand... schematic please.

Some time later......All good, I constructed and drew the mod board then followed the layout wiring guide above and found the caps on the original schematic, now it all makes sense. Tah.

Diagrams below showing how to mod PM1000 bass and treble to use JLM Audio PM2000 mod kits so you have 5 bass and 5 treble frequencies.
If you use a 6 way switch and the original 680mH inductor you can have 5 bell bass frequencies as well as one bass shelf.
If you use a 6 way switch and the original C15 47nF and R44 150R you can have 5 bell treble frequencies as well as one treble shelf.
