just finished installing some sifam meters in a case using the JLM VU buffer to drive them. The buffer gives me the high impedance isolation and trimpot adjustment i need but i did find one problem.
As the Sifam's are true VU meters and contain a rectifing bridge, when the diode drop on the buffer board is added to the diode drop of the internal bridge, the meters become unaccurate at low levels. They cannot display below about -7dB correctly.
The solution is snack : Remove ( or don't install in the first place ) D1 and D2, replace D1 with a wire link and leave D2 postion open circuit.
