API transformer swap?

Post by Lachie »

Hey All,
I have a rack of 4 Baby Animals that I built around 6 years ago. I got them all pretty straightforward with JLM1:4 & JLM99v in all 4 channels.

Lately I was thinking of swapping the input transformers to the API Classic EA2622 on a couple channels.
Im just wondering if its a straight swap for my boards and if there are any other parts/opamps etc that I should consider changing along with this?
Looking at the pics of the API's online - http://classicapi.com/catalog/product_i ... ucts_id=80 - it would seem that they have an extra 2 legs than the 99v?
Has anyone done this?

Thanks in advance.

Oops ignore what I said re: the extra legs. I realise now I am thinking of the 99v's legs!

But looking into it some more, is it worth thinking about the 2520 opamps along with the EA2622's?

Thanks again!

From BA BA2 BA4 BAD Dual99v Build Thread http://www.jlmaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=123

Building API 512, API 312 type mic pre on BA PCB
If using JLM25HV or JLM25HV FET NO BD681 is needed & 33v - 39v zener as they can run direct on the +/-24v of the BA PCB.
