Looking for specs

Post by Broken »

Hi all,

I'm thinking about building either the 1272 or Dual99v 2 channel kit. Does anyone here no what the noise specs of each kit are?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I can't find anything on it.

Cheers,

Michael

Both 1290 and Dual99v can perform to the noise spec of EIN -129dB as long as input transformers are not close to any power transformers in other equipment. Which is why they can both do 75dB quietly.

Also since they are both made up of 2 low gain preamp stages they have generally less high end hiss than modern high gain opamp type mic pres.

We have heaps of guys doing very quiet recordings even with low output ribbon microphones with Dual99v mic pres because of there very low noise floor and high gain capability.
