I have similar questions. I will be running each AMP separately off its own transformer, what VA transformer should I use for just one AMP? If 160VA will run 2 will 80VA run one or is it not that simple? How much heatsinking does the kit require, and how does it attach to the heatsink? Can I use a p...

try the JLM14 they are good. I can't post clips because I just changed my 2 channels of OEP for JLM14 I now have 2 channels with OPA2604 and 2 with 99V all with JLM14 input I found the OEP's had a prominent midrange and a slightly dull/closed-in top end, they sounded solid and focused but lacked the...

It took me ages to realise it, but it seems to have been a dodgy OPA2604 i guess i shouldnt have left it in while removing the transformer! i would have thought it was far enough away that stray heat wasn't an issue though. how could i have damaged it so it became noisy? anyway i replaced it and now...

I can't see anything i did slightly damage a...

oep transformer removal? (from BA)
I've got a couple of channels of BA with oep transformers, but I'm thinking after using them for a bit that the oep transformers are not to my taste, they are good, but maybe just not what i'm after, i find myself using the JLM14 channels more. so i'm wondering about changing them - so i have questi...

does anyone else think its odd to crank the level way up with a preamp, involving a transformer etc, and then knock it down again with another transformer? if the A/D doesnt need high levels why do we bother with preamps with line level outs? as far as I can see the A/D should aim for transparent an...
