Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD

Hi Joe- I've got a funny little issue I can't figure out on my Powerstation. It's set up to run 3x 24v lines, with C1 and C2 removed. When testing outside of it's case, it's working perfectly with no issues whatsoever. OK However, in it's case, it's blowing fuses instantly on start up. I initially ...

Re: VU BUFFER KIT BUILD THREAD

Yes, I have no doubt your circuit is good! 8) I just wanted to throw one together quickly to play with, and thought/hoped you may know off hand what I did wrong based on my symptoms. Yep that is fine. But since it is not working at all it is hard to work out what is wrong as there are to many optio...

Re: VU BUFFER KIT BUILD THREAD

I have breadboarded this circuit, twice, but cannot seem to get any meter movement unless I place my audio line source (line output of a tape deck/also tried headphone output of mp3 player) directly into the +/- inputs of the opamp. I am using a 34mm meter (I beleive it to be 500uA). Anyways, not s...

Re: dINgO Pup PCB and kit now available

Would there be enough parts and traces easy enough to cut / re-route on this board to convert to a dual unbalanced in to dual unbalanced output unity (or some small amount like +6) gain buffer? Yes simple to do and you do not need to cut any tracks BUT it would be nicer and easier done with 2 x Reg...

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread

Can the variable gain range be changed to a more full range selection, such as a swap from 5K to 20 or 25K value? Gain range can be changed by changing the 1k8 and 15k resistor to different values but this is a gain function so it no going to be a like a volume pot with full off position. If turnin...

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread

Joe I will be using OPA2604 .Should I also run the rails at +- 18v or bump up to +- 24 v(raise elec cap volts to 50) +/-24v is good with the OPA2604AP. Caps still only need to be 25v types. The kits have 35v electros in them Also anything else I should know about using this circuit with the OPA2604...

Cheers

Yep that will be perfect 8)

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi Joe, yep - all good re; pin#1's... Power is on, and staying on, Mac LINK LED works when in 'link' mode, and and Dingo's are measuring spot on +/- 24v at VS+/- . The IDC Header on the left dingo cable that I re-terminated was the only thing that looked a little sus, even though it tested ok with ...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi again Joe, I got the new zd's and cable ends, thankyou! And thankyou for the follow up phone call, sorry I missed it. I've installed the 4 x new zd's on the Dingos, re-tested and I'm getting +/-24v at VS+/- respectively on the Dingos. So that's all good again...!! Ok cool Before I turn on the po...

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread

Joe Hello Is there a Schematic of the Regurgitator pcb w/component # and/or values ? If not could you please tell me what components are in the audio path and or the power path? Thanks Yes I can email you a copy. Power parts are C7, C8, ZD1, ZD2, R14, R15. Everything else is audio path. Please do n...

So true ;-). Just trying to save this gear from being used as door stops or dust collecting rack filler.

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD

Ok so I will only need a 2X15V trannie. I thought I would have needed something like a 25V or 28V trannie. When I put in rounded up estimate amps in for the parts it gives me 34C/W for the 15Vrails and 20C/W for the 9V rails and 84C/W for the phantom power rail. Will attaching regulators to the cas...

Re: MAC Build Thread

But in the ribbon wiring photo's the ribbon has the red pin1 on the correct side? Did you reterminate the ribbon cable header? Yes - when I realised the header on the Dingo board was on backwards and the same as for the Mac Link board (an error by me), I did re-terminate both ends with a new one on...

Re: V8 Opamp

What performance difference does the V8 opamp yield in the BAN pre? Using, say, 4 2604's as opposed to just one. For that matter, using 4 of any opamp instead of one. What difference does the increase produce? V8 is great for driving very long cable runs or step up output transformers. Other wise I...
