Re: A2D
Thank you Joe, sounds great. Just two more question: Will this configuration work well with balanced as well as unbalanced sources? Also, how much DC on the input can the transformer handle?

Re: A2D
Also, won't I have to attenuate the signal at some point so the converter doesn't clip?

Re: A2D
I'd very much like to replace the differential op amp on the input of my PCM4222EVM converter with a couple JLM14. Would this be possible? Schematic attached.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Baby Animal frequency response problem
Thanks Joe! It sounds good, but just a little too sparkly with my U47 clone (which has a higher amplitude and probably a lower impedance than the average condenser). I'll leave it as it is. :D It's very interesting how different the combinations sound. The 990/Lundahl channel comes over as midrange-...

Baby Animal frequency response problem
Hi Joe, I've got two Baby Animal preamps: One fitted with a Lundahl 1538 and works fine. However, the other one is fitted with a OEP262A3C wired low and although it has (as far as I am aware of) the correct RL/CL values in place it shows a skewed frequency response. As the attached image shows, the ...

Answer from Joe?
Hello, I wrote an email to Joe about a problem with my BA almost three weeks ago, and an email to JLM Audio about not getting an answer almost two weeks ago, but never received any answer back. My problem is pretty specific, so posting it here wouldn't make a lot of sense IMO. So how can I get an an...

Re: How to add line inputs to the Baby Animal?
Or if you mean you want to use the BA as a mic pre and also have a no phantom power line input. Use a 3DPT switch to switch the +in and -in to a seperate line in XLR and the 3rd section of the switch to open circuit the C and E connection of the BD681* to disable phantom power when switched to the ...

How to add line inputs to the Baby Animal?
Hi, I'd like to add line inputs to my Baby Animal to be able to use it as a makeup gain stage for a passive EQ and not fear accidentally destroying equipment with phantom power. Where would be the best place in the circuit to do that? My guess is that at the position market in yellow "in+" and "in-"...

Is it possible to use the JLM14 instead of the Opamps with this DIY-Converter:

Or maybe the TI PCM4204EVM:
