Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Thanks Joe. Yes, the 48v rail is set to double so I can get 24v. The transformer is this model- http://www.altronics.com.au/index.asp?area=item&id=M5015 It is currently wired with black and white going to 0v, and orange and red each going to an AC tab. I believe this is how you are suggesting to wir...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Thanks for your reply Joe. Yes, I used your calculator to VA needs. I'm using a 15v 50VA transformer, as your calculator suggested I needed 41VA when I entered very overspec'd values. I'm getting a voltage dip even if I just plug in one 50mA draw pedal, but I used values of 600 and 700mA for the 12v...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi Joe, Still battling with these problems. I initially had the voltage regs remote mounted to the side of the case, but was getting fluctuating voltages when plugging/unplugging pedals so I mounted them directly onto the board, and attached heatsinks. This hasn't fixed the issue, so I've replaced t...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi Joe, Thanks for the reply. The board was halfway stuffed, so I knocked it up quickly last night and was having a test earlier today. You're spot on with both bits of your advice, these are the problems I'm having! All pedals are working well when used one at a time, except for one, a Deluxe Memor...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi Joe, I've got a couple of AC/DC and Powerstations in operation in my studio, and all running great. Thank you! They get used everyday and have given me no dramas (maybe a couple that were my fault when building, but once I got them correct they've been great). I was wondering if you thought a Pow...

Re: AMP HEAD Build Thread
Hi Joe- Just an update- issues with the 1st channel seem to have been related to a faulty input jack. I've replaced this and all seems ok on that channel now, fingers crossed. Explains why replacing other parts wasn't helping! Still yet to solve the 2nd channel, but I'll keep trying. Just to elimina...

Re: AMP HEAD Build Thread
Hi Joe, Sorry for the delay in reply, I was super busy and haven't had time to open up the unit and fiddle around. Yes, I tested both amp heads separately and they worked fine before installing together with ribbon cable. Definitely all caps are in the right way round (negative leads facing towards ...

Re: AMP HEAD Build Thread
Hi Joe, I've got 2 amp head kits I've mounted together in a box. Previously I had only bothered to make one of them, and it was working perfectly, however I recently finished off the 2nd kit and attached them via a ribbon cable. I've had some problems since then- First off one of the 100uf caps (C4)...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi Joe, Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, there is nothing connected to the outputs whatsoever. They are wired up to a 4pin XLR jack (3x 24v rails, and the 4th pin is ground), which is where I have been testing them, but the XLR is not attached to a load. Nothing is changed when I move it into the ca...

Re: AC/DC & POWERSTATION KIT BUILD THREAD
Hi Joe- I've got a funny little issue I can't figure out on my Powerstation. It's set up to run 3x 24v lines, with C1 and C2 removed. When testing outside of it's case, it's working perfectly with no issues whatsoever. However, in it's case, it's blowing fuses instantly on start up. I initially thou...
