Re: 500 series extender kit..

Bwaahaaa!!     Got a short between pin 1 + 2 in one of the black ribbon cable plugs - see pic/bent pin. Only shorting when the cable is extended a certain way....ie; fitted to module/rack. Was attempting to use it with a 500v and normal 500 modules i.e. JLMs, APIs,...

500 series extender kit..

Hey Joe...call me stupid, but this extender kit I've built doesn't appear to work for me. It powers up the modules but passes no signal. It appears to test ok with a multi meter. I haven't yet trimmed the 51x parts of the pcbs, however it still seats ok on each side. Any thoughts?? Errr...something ...

500 series EDAC Edge Connectors for TG500s

Hiya Joe, thanks for 15way EDAC connectors. As mentioned I'm rewiring an old retro 6 slot Rebus lunchbox which is all point to point ie; no pcb rails etc. The exisiting wiring was such a mess, I just want to check I have the edge connector loom correct; Can you please confirm for the TG 500's (and m...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Lovin' it! Tracked some vocals with it first time the other day through a SM7 & API 512, hard hitting rock song, really powerful singer, the MAC really worked wonders. Top comp! :P Looking forward to the SUMO 16...!!

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi Joe, LEDs in VU's are definitely popped... After rewiring output pots correctly, as I mentioned on phone I can not get alignment to work out. The relays on both the Dingos are definitely clicking over when switching VU/off/GR. I did have to short out the right channel on the back of the VU outsid...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi Joe, swapped the wires to VUs as instructed. Still no LEDs in VU/GR mode. If switching the the VU/off/GR switch to VU or GR clicks the relay in and the compressor signal path then either there is a short between A K of the led on the PCB or the LED has gone short from the backwards IDC plug prob...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi Joe, yep - all good re; pin#1's... Power is on, and staying on, Mac LINK LED works when in 'link' mode, and and Dingo's are measuring spot on +/- 24v at VS+/- . The IDC Header on the left dingo cable that I re-terminated was the only thing that looked a little sus, even though it tested ok with a...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi again Joe, I got the new zd's and cable ends, thankyou! And thankyou for the follow up phone call, sorry I missed it. I've installed the 4 x new zd's on the Dingos, re-tested and I'm getting +/-24v at VS+/- respectively on the Dingos. So that's all good again...!! Before I turn on the power, I've...

Re: MAC Build Thread

But in the ribbon wiring photo's the ribbon has the red pin1 on the correct side? Did you reterminate the ribbon cable header? Yes - when I realised the header on the Dingo board was on backwards and the same as for the Mac Link board (an error by me), I did re-terminate both ends with a new one on...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi Joe, thankyou again for your prompt reply! I've tested the 4 x ZD 24v1w and the two on the left Dingo are measuring 0.0 ohms, and one on the right dingo measures 1.4k...(the other 9.98k - ok?)...so best to replace the first three...?? Can I get these online via your shop?? RS, Farnell and WES see...

Re: MAC Build Thread

Hi again, Before I hooked up the Dingo to Mac PCB with the ribbon cables, and before I plugged in the 99v's I tested the V+ & V- as per instructions on the Dingo PCBs; both read +24v and -24v respectively. The green power LED was lit solid on the front panel. - However, after hooking up the ribb...

Re: MACSCH.pdf

Oh - can any one on a Mac open MACSCH.pdf...?? I've tried browsers, Preview, Adobe Reader v8, Word, Photoshop with no luck...

Photoshop says; 'doc has security setting which prevent it from being opened'

(I'm OSx10.6)

Cheers, Nathan...

Hi JLM 'ers, just happily building my MAC Kit on a rainy day here in Sydney... Because I AM an absolute amateur who can read a schem to a degree (ok), so patience if you please & a couple of quick questions... On the MAC PCB; 1. Capacitor C3 & C4 (3u3) - with the toggle switches to th...
