if you want a pretty decent locally available stereo pot. RS has these :

they are spec-ed for 2dB gang error, but generally i find they are better than this.

well, kind of. I have been using the front end cut off some baby animal pcbs from which i'd previously used the amp sections as balanced line drivers. These new go-betweens are essentially the same thing, but with the connection points presented nicely.

just finished installing some sifam meters in a case using the JLM VU buffer to drive them. The buffer gives me the high impedance isolation and trimpot adjustment i need but i did find one problem.
