Re: 1290 Build Thread

Hi Joe. I got consistent readings with both channels, and it didn't make any sense. I tried different cables and even different inputs on my interface, but the difference was still there. It was driving me nuts until I checked the output jack, that had a loose "hot" connection. (I use jack i/o inst...

Re: V6 General setup questions

Hi Folks, This one is for me to get my head around the various options and configurations of the V6 for my particular application. Which is to power an old Trident console, and replace the old linear hand built PS. My desired outcome is to have all three DC outputs bonded (AKA 3 channels of + and 3...

Re: V6 Mains transformer wiring

Hi Folks, Reading through i can see that some are asking for more clarity on how to set this V6 up. I for one, am a little confused myself, as there are various config options and some of the descriptions used are a little vague or just lacking the detail setup for each option :-). I'm very much fo...

Re: Passive pultec with TX and Dingo

Hi Joe, first thanks for answering - I used, if I recall well the Gyraf one for all the network including bypass. http://www.gyraf.dk/gy_pd/pultec/pultech.gif and to answer my own question regarding TX I'll use the UTC, makes more sense regarding the sound. is 1:2 (200:500) ok? thanks again. Cedric...

Thanks Joe! Are you able to share the schematic, or otherwise recommend what you’d try in terms of signal path with the LM4562/LME49720 in there?
Yes just send me a email and I will send you a copy of the schematic. The LME49720 is just better at driving longer cable runs

Re: Regurgitator kit Build Thread

The unbalanced 75 ohm stereo line output on our RME MADI FX card has quite good specs, but outputs +13dBu for 0dBFS. We need it to match our other converters at +20 or +24dBu. In a recent test, we found that a standard THAT 1646 circuit used to send this output to our balanced patchbay sounded grea...

Re: 1290 Build Thread

Thank you for the advice Joe! I finished my 2x1290 and it works. However one channel seems about 10 dB quieter. I measured input and output connections resistances + to - and both to ground, and both channels are identical. So are the connections at the GoBetween Plus and the input and output trans...

Re: Stereo VU meter kit BUILD THREAD

Ok do you understand that the leds need to be the correct polarity to work. So +L goes to long leg of first led then short leg of that led links to the long leg of the next led. Then the last short leg no used goes to -L. If one or both leds are backwards they will not light up. I'm sure I got the ...

Re: 1290 Build Thread

Do I just go like this: (I'm reading the Go between plus taps from left to right as the text "Primary" is the right way up) Primary Go between plus -> VTB9045 1 -> 10 2 -> 9 3 -> 8 4 -> 7 Secondary Go between plus -> VTB9045 1 -> 5 2 -> 4 3 -> 3 4 -> 2 and pin 6 is ground And I´m guessing the jumpe...

Re: Stereo VU meter kit BUILD THREAD

I've since rebuilt the VU buffer kit, and replace the LED's in the VU meter. The VU meter works fine and has been calibrated, but the LED's don't work, even after desoldering and replacing the burnt ones with new 5mm white LED's. I don't know how to troubleshoot from here. Please advise. Ok do you ...

Re: VU BUFFER & PEAK LED KIT BUILD THREAD

The output level you need to set the meter buffer to will depend on the input level to your A/D input level which should be a pro +18dBu to +24dBu device to suit the full output of the AM16. What A/D is this going into? Using a amp and headphone with no input level reference will no help calibrate t...

Re: Stereo VU meter kit BUILD THREAD

All that should be needed is to change the 10R to the correct Rload of 680R and replace the 2 x white high bright 5mm led in each meters backlight box by unscrewing the 2 small philip head screws. If you remove the 2 x Rlamp 10R for now you can test and align the meters without the backlights. The ...

Re: STATTEN Build Thread

Yes you are correct with everything inside being unbalanced. It's all simple volume pot wiring, but I figured there must be some smart pcb's for bussing all the pot outputs together. Or do you just use a stripboard, or a terminal block or something? OK I see that makes sense. I could easily do a cu...

Your dropbox is not offering me the download button. It want me to sign in and I do not have a dropbox account. Are you not able to add the photos as attachments to your post? Hopefully this upload works. I just realised that there are 2 images of the PCB, and I think I was going by the older one. ...
